Hosting and server log files

When you visit this website, the web server processes connection data that is technically necessary. This may include your IP address, the date and time, the requested file, the volume of data transferred, the referrer, your browser and operating system. This processing is necessary to deliver the website, detect errors and prevent attacks.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and uninterrupted operation of the website. The hosting provider processes this data as a processor on our behalf. Log data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for operation and security, unless longer retention is necessary to investigate a security incident.

Contact by email and phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process the data you provide to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual enquiries, and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in other cases.

Cookies, consent and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this website. For users in the European Economic Area and Switzerland, the responsible Google provider is Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland. Google and the advertising partners named in the consent message may process, in particular, IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited, interactions with advertisements, and cookies or similar identifiers.

Consent is managed through Google’s Privacy & messaging service. The AdSense code also loads the consent message provided for this purpose; connections to Google are already established during this process. Where required, you can reject, allow or individually configure purposes that require consent. The advertising purposes permitted depend on your selection. Non-personalised advertisements may also use cookies or similar technologies, for example to limit ad frequency, for measurement and to detect misuse.

Section 25(1) TDDDG applies to storing or accessing information on your device where consent is required; the resulting processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where storing your consent decision and providing the privacy management you have requested are necessary, Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR apply. Our legitimate interest is the verifiable management of your privacy choices.

You can reopen your choices through “Privacy settings” or “Datenschutzeinstellungen” at the bottom of the page and withdraw consent with effect for the future. The specific purposes, advertising partners and retention periods are listed in Google’s consent message. You can also delete cookies already stored through your browser.

Further information is available in Google’s information about data use on partner websites, its information about advertising technologies and Google’s privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics for our own audience measurement. Font files and the other website functions are provided locally.

Local settings for appearance and font size

Your choices for colour scheme and font size are stored solely in your browser’s localStorage. The values are named theme and fontSize. They are not sent to us and can be changed through the website or removed by deleting the website data in your browser.

This storage is necessary to provide the appearance you have explicitly selected. The legal basis for accessing your device is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG.

Recipients and transfers

Recipients of personal data are the hosting provider, the contracted mail server and, in connection with Google AdSense and consent management, Google and the advertising partners listed in the consent message. When Google services are used, processing may also take place outside the European Economic Area, particularly in the United States. Google explains the safeguards used for this in its frameworks for data transfers. Processing for advertising purposes that require consent depends on your selection in the consent message.

If you voluntarily follow other external links, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply.

Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to:

  • Access under Article 15 GDPR
  • Rectification under Article 16 GDPR
  • Erasure under Article 17 GDPR
  • Restriction of processing under Article 18 GDPR
  • Data portability under Article 20 GDPR
  • Object under Article 21 GDPR to processing based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR

You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

Right to lodge a complaint

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for North Rhine-Westphalia is:

State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia
Kavalleriestraße 2-4
40213 Düsseldorf
www.ldi.nrw.de

Updates

We update this privacy policy when functions, recipients or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
